Related: SOP-LAB-001 (PPE/IPA); product SOPs for exact resin cure profiles

1. Purpose

Keep NanoCure’s curing environment clean, software/profiles current, and operators clear on what to do when a material profile is missing so post-cure results stay consistent with SprintRay IFUs.

2. Scope

In scope: Glass curing tray cleaning; dry-part rule before cure; software / automatic updates; cloud sign-in; missing-profile response; height limit; basic chamber/workspace care.

Out of scope: Inventing custom cure times for SprintRay resins that have official profiles; clinical shade/characterization decisions; ProCure legacy units (not on locked Smile Avenue stack).

3. Who

Role Responsibility
Lab Technician Tray clean; confirm dry parts; select correct profile; run updates; first-line missing-profile checks
Trainer / Lead Lab Technician Confirm auto-updates enabled; competency
Doctor Clinical release if cure deviation suspected; authorize remakes

4. Safety

5. Materials

Item Notes
Soft lint-free cloths Tray cleaning
IPA (isopropyl alcohol) First wipe of glass tray
Glass cleaner Second wipe to remove streaks/haze
Network / SprintRay account Cloud jobs, updates, profile availability
Power on surge protector / UPS Per setup guidance

6. Steps by cadence

6.1 EVERY CURE (daily ops)

  1. Confirm models were washed per product SOP / IFU and are visually dry (no IPA sheen or pooled solvent).
  2. Open curing drawer; place models evenly on glass tray; respect ≤ 3 in height (lay tall/long models flat).
  3. Close drawer securely — do not force.
  4. Prefer cloud job handoff (Queue) when signed in; otherwise manually select the exact resin profile printed (e.g., NightGuard Flex 2, Apex Flex, OnX Tough 2 — Max Strength when IFU specifies).
  5. Start cycle; allow preheat if prompted; do not open mid-cure unless aborting intentionally.
  6. After cure: follow product SOP for any post-cure wipe/finish steps.

6.2 CHAMBER / TRAY CLEAN (when dirty, residue, streaks, or on-screen clean reminder)

SprintRay: clean when tray is dirty or shows residue; software has included clean-tray reminders historically.

  1. Remove glass tray from curing drawer.
  2. Wipe with soft lint-free cloth dampened with IPA.
  3. Follow with glass cleaner to remove streaks/haze.
  4. Allow tray to fully dry.
  5. Reseat tray flat and secure in drawer.
  6. Avoid abrasives and excessive pressure (scratches hurt optical/thermal uniformity).
  7. Wipe accessible interior surfaces only as needed with IPA on soft cloth — VERIFY any deeper chamber clean limits with SprintRay if debris enters behind tray/frame; do not spray liquids into vents or electronics.

Cadence note: No official calendar “weekly/monthly” tray interval published beyond condition-based cleaning and on-device reminders — practice may add a weekly wipe (VERIFY).

6.3 SOFTWARE & PROFILE UPDATES (weekly check + always-on auto-update)

  1. On touchscreen: Settings → Software.
  2. Confirm Automatic Updates = On (recommended by SprintRay — installs when idle).
  3. Tap Check for Updates / Update Now if available; review Release Notes if needed.
  4. Download → Install → unit restarts — do not unplug.
  5. After restart, verify version under Settings → Software.
  6. Keep NanoCure on network and signed into the correct SprintRay account so profiles and job handoff stay current.

6.4 WHEN PROFILES ARE MISSING

Work top-down — do not invent substitute cure programs for labeled SprintRay resins:

  1. Confirm resin is validated for NanoCure on the IFU / hardware-resin compatibility matrix.
  2. Confirm unit is online and signed in to the practice SprintRay account.
  3. Run software update (missing resins have been addressed in NanoCure release notes historically).
  4. Power-cycle: hold rear power button ~5 seconds if needed; re-check profile list / search.
  5. If cloud job exists, select from Queue rather than manual list.
  6. If still missing: stop production on that SKU; escalate to SprintRay Support with resin name, NanoCure software version, and account/network status. Doctor decides remake / delay.
  7. Third-party or non-listed materials: only with explicit IFU/custom guidance — out of scope for standard Smile Avenue SprintRay paths.

7. QC

Check Pass
Dry before cure No residual IPA/moisture
Profile Exact resin name/profile matches printed material
Tray Clear, dry, seated flat
Software Auto-update On; version noted after monthly glance (VERIFY log)
Height Models within limit / laid flat

8. Troubleshooting

Issue Action
Soft / tacky / under-cured feel Confirm dry-in; correct profile; tray clean; IFU cycle; escalate remake to Doctor
Tray residue / haze IPA + glass cleaner clean; dry fully
Clean-tray pop-up Clean tray per §6.2
Profile missing §6.4 sequence
Won’t sign in / no cloud jobs Network + account troubleshooting; Support if persists
Overheat / vent blocked Clear vents; relocate per setup (no direct sun)
Drawer won’t close Check height; never force

9. Escalate

Escalate to When
Doctor Suspected under-cure on patient devices; remakes; authorization to delay cases for missing profiles
SprintRay Support — 1-800-914-8004 Missing profiles after update/sign-in; hardware faults; software install failures; account/cloud sync issues

10. Sources

11. VERIFY list

  1. Practice rule: mandatory weekly tray wipe vs condition-only + on-screen reminder.
  2. SprintRay account owner / shared login procedure for NanoCure (IT/security).
  3. Where software version is logged after updates.
  4. Backup plan if NanoCure is down (none on locked stack unless Doctor authorizes alternate validated cure device).
  5. Confirm on-site height-limit labeling / station card.
