ProWash S care, IPA management, and station checks

SprintRay ProWash S — IPA, tanks, adapters, leaks

1. Purpose

Maintain ProWash S so wash/dry cycles remove uncured resin reliably, IPA is replaced when saturated (not by guessing), tanks and filters stay clean, adapters are used correctly for Pro 2, and leaks are distinguished from normal evaporation.

2. Scope

In scope: IPA monitoring/replacement; reservoir tank scrub; mesh filter; hydrometers; platform vs basket wash; Pro 2 adapter rules; leak checks; drain-port issues; storage when idle.

Out of scope: Resin-specific custom wash times (see each IFU / product SOP); IPA hazardous-waste contracting (VERIFY vendor).

4. Safety

• PPE per SOP-LAB-001 (gloves, eyewear, protective clothing) for all IPA work.
• IPA flammable — ventilated area; no ignition sources; surge-protected power.
• Never pour IPA into the wash chamber — fill reservoir chambers only.
• Never flush IPA down the drain. Use labeled waste containers and certified disposal.
• Small drips when connecting/disconnecting the drain hose can be normal; continuous leakage is not.

6. Steps by cadence

6.1 BEFORE EACH WASH (daily ops)

1. Confirm reservoir lids closed when idle; unit level, ventilated, nothing stacked on top.
2. Check touchscreen for IPA / filter prompts.
3. Glance at hydrometers: submerged ≈ OK; floating ≈ replace IPA.
4. Select Platform Wash or Basket Wash per model (and IFU). For Pro 2: seat platform so unit detects it (built-in magnet — no Pro55 adapter).
5. Do not stack/crowd models in basket; close basket lid fully when using basket mode.
6. After cycle: inspect parts for residual resin; confirm dry (run Dry Only if moisture remains) before NanoCure.
7. VERIFY Smile Avenue default cycle name(s) posted on station card vs resin IFU custom cycles.

6.2 WHEN TO CHANGE IPA (event-based — official SprintRay triggers)

Replace IPA when any of the following occur (SprintRay ProWash S IPA Care article):

1. Touchscreen prompts replacement.
2. Hydrometer floats.
3. Cleaning results become inconsistent (sticky/tacky parts after a normal cycle).

Do not invent a fixed “every X days” interval unless practice later validates one from usage data — SprintRay guidance is condition-based. Chamber 1 (primary) typically saturates sooner than Chamber 2 (fine wash).

6.3 IPA DRAIN / REFILL / TANK CARE (each IPA change)

1. Don PPE. Stage labeled IPA waste container.
2. Drain (repeat per chamber as needed):
   - Remove drain hose from holder.
   - Press metal inlet into drainage port until it clicks.
   - Place free end in waste container.
   - Release safety clamp; drain fully.
   - Slide outer ring of drain port away to disengage hose.
3. Clean IPA tanks every time IPA is replaced:
   - Remove hydrometer.
   - Scrub with provided brush.
   - Rinse with fresh IPA.
   - Reinstall hydrometer; repeat for second chamber.
4. Add fresh IPA: open reservoir lid; add ≥500 mL IPA ≥91% to each chamber; close lid. (99% allowed; sensors may need several cycles.)
5. Hydrometers may float briefly after refill, then sink once stabilized.
6. Log date/chamber/volume (VERIFY log location).

6.4 MESH FILTER

1. Clean when the screen prompts (SprintRay).
2. Unscrew filter; rinse under cold water to remove debris; reinstall securely.
3. Replace filter if it cannot be adequately cleaned (VERIFY spare filter on hand).

6.5 ADAPTERS / PLATFORM DETECTION (Pro 2)

1. Pro 2 platforms: magnet is built in — do not require the Pro55 adapter or magnet sticker for detection.
2. If “not detecting build platform”: reseat platform; confirm correct orientation; clean detection area; verify you are not using a bare Pro55 workflow by mistake.
3. Pro55 adapter (if ever used on a loaner platform): place per SprintRay Pro55 adapter article — opening orientation as documented — VERIFY before use; Smile Avenue locked stack is Pro 2.

6.6 LEAKS VS EVAPORATION

1. Slow IPA level drop with lids opened often / warm room → often evaporation. Keep lids closed; control temperature.
2. Inspect quick-connect drain ports for drips beneath ports; confirm ports fully tightened and fittings lock.
3. Normal: small drip on hose connect/disconnect.
4. Abnormal: continuous leak, hose won’t lock, port stuck open/closed → drain chamber, clean, replace drain port with SprintRay kit (do not remove pre-applied Teflon tape; do not overtighten). If unsure, call Support before forcing hardware.

6.7 IDLE / STORAGE

• Keep unit plugged in.
• Chambers should hold fresh (not saturated) IPA.
• Reservoir lids closed.

11. VERIFY list

1. Station default wash profiles vs each resin IFU custom cycle.
2. IPA waste vendor, container labels, and pickup cadence.
3. Spare mesh filter and drain-port kit on hand.
4. Whether Chamber 2→1 recycle is used at Smile Avenue (SprintRay notes Chamber 2 can be recycled into Chamber 1 when needed) — practice rule yes/no.
5. Log sheet for IPA changes (date, chamber, hydrometer/prompt reason).
